The International Zinema School Fest was held at European level from 26 to 30 November 2018 in Bilbao, screening a sample of graduation projects from some of the most important European film schools.

THE FESTIVAL

The International Zinema School Fest was held at European level from 26 to 30 November 2018 in Bilbao, screening a sample of graduation projects from some of the most important European film schools.

 

The festival was a hub for the gathering and networking of young talents and students from international film schools and Basque students whose films and audiovisual works had been selected to participate in the festival. Representatives of film schools, directors and professionals of the film industry took part in conferences, master classes and workshops in order to discuss the future of the European audiovisual sector.

 

The works submitted to the festival had been previously selected by each of the schools participating in the competition and then shortlisted by the festival’s jury.

 

Competing categories were:

  • Animation

  • Documentary

  • Fiction

  • Experimental

 

MASTER CLASses

The International Zinema School Fest offered within its programme from 26 to 30 November a series of master classes with various professionals from the film industry. The aim of these seminars was to take a close look at state-of-the-art trends in filmmaking from different perspectives.

The master classes were addressed at students of film schools, audiovisual communication, fine arts, performing arts and anyone with a specific interest in the sector.

FORUM "THE FUTURE OF EUROPEAN CINEMA"

On 28 November the forum "The Future of European Cinema" took place in the auditorium of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum with the participation of representatives of Basque, State and European institutions from the film sector who debated on the coming challenges and oportunities of the European audiovisual sector.

 

FILM STUDENTS MEETING

On 30 November a meeting was held in the auditorium of the Fine Arts Museum of Bilbao in which representatives of different film schools explained what studies their school offered and what their relationship with the Bilbao European Zinema Schools Fest had been like. Afterwards, delegates had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with them.
